Maurice 46aa0c6b0a fix(map): the base layer switch stays in its corner when a place opens
Opening a place sent it from the bottom left of the map to the top, which reads
as the control moving house rather than as room being made. Nothing was in its
way: the inspector is a card centred between the sidebars and at most 800 wide,
so the corner it was clearing is one the card never reaches.

Both renderers, since the switch is not supposed to move when an instance changes
its map.

Maurice 62d4cdcc18 fix(accommodations): catch the nights the upgrade itself could not reach
A migration runs while the old container is still answering. A booking written in
those seconds comes from code that knows nothing about the day stop and lands
behind the sweep that would have given it one: on the test instance exactly one
of ten, and invisible to the drive ever after, with no way back short of saving
it again. The sweep runs a second time, which is safe because the same NOT EXISTS
decides it both times.

The other way into that state is closed too. "Remove from day" in the place panel
took the stop and left the booking, which is the very state this whole change
exists to remove — and it was the only control that could produce it after the
upgrade. A stop a booking wrote is no longer offered there, in either direction:
removing it strands the booking, adding one puts the same hotel on the day twice.
The night is removed where it is made, in the day's overnight block or by turning
it back into a pause in road trip mode.

Maurice 7197ec1c96 fix(roadtrip): a stay that outlasts the day takes the road with it
Three things the day boundary was swallowing, all from the same stay.

The stop after it stayed on yesterday. It is reached a full day later but at a
later reading on the clock, and the only rule watching for a new day was "the
clock went backwards" — which that never does. The schedule's own count knows,
as long as it is read as a difference: a day whose first arrivals came out
negative is lifted whole, and reading the lifted offsets raw once moved an early
stop to tomorrow while leaving the late one behind. It now crosses over properly,
marked as having set off the day before.

The morning after started at the exact minute the stay ended, as if the road to
the first stop took no time. The carried minute is a departure; the drive from
there is added to it.

And that drive was invisible. It was on the map and in the day's total, but the
rail jumped straight to a stop at 08:11 after a stay that ended at 08:00. It gets
the same band any other drive gets, above the stop it arrives at — except where a
stop crossed over, which already draws that road under its own block.

Maurice 3d201e1ced fix(roadtrip): the check-out leaves the drive, and a long stay carries the clock
A check-out is the LATEST the room has to be handed back, never the earliest
anybody may drive on, so it says nothing the chain can use. It shaped four things
it had no business shaping: the departure the day was built from, the length the
rail printed for a booked night, a day-selector and a clock field in the stop
dialog, and the branch that sent a night's STAY badge to the booking form because
its length was not editable here. All four go. The booking keeps its check-out;
it is a booking detail and lives under Days, where it is entered.

What replaces it is the thing that was always the honest answer: how long you
stand there. That is the traveller's own statement rather than a deadline, and a
stay running past midnight now carries the clock into the morning after — a stop
pinned before it ends keeps its hour and collects the late finding, as it would
from any leg it cannot make. A stay spanning whole days walks the clock forward
over them. An ordinary evening hands on nothing: the night between two days is
not a wait somebody is serving out.

The stay dialog goes to a full day rather than four hours, since it is now the
only place a night is given its hours, and offers eight and twelve as presets.
Every stop answers the same question the same way.

Overlay panels lose the skeleton placeholder. It was drawn in the page flow, so
the first time each dialog was ever opened a pale block flashed under the planner
and never again once its chunk was cached.

Maurice d4677bdeab fix(roadtrip): a night booked into the next morning holds that morning
Every day was scheduled from nothing, so a booking that runs into the next day
ended at midnight as far as the chain was concerned. Check in at 08:00 and out
at 08:00 the next day, and the rail was happy to put you somewhere else at 07:00
that morning, with no sign that the room was still yours.

The day a check-out falls in now starts at the check-out rather than at nothing.
A floor, never a move: a stop with a clock of its own keeps it and collects the
late finding any leg it cannot make in time would give it, so a plan that says
07:00 still says 07:00 and merely admits it does not add up. A stop with no clock
starts at the check-out instead of having no time at all.

Only that one day. A stay running Monday to Thursday leaves Tuesday and Wednesday
alone, because you sleep there, you do not sit there.

The departure chip takes the door-out mark instead of a clock face. Beside an
arrival time, a second clock read as a second arrival.

Maurice 274dbea069 fix(planner): hide the booked night where the day list is actually drawn
The filter sat on the planner hook's assignments, but the day sidebar is handed
storedAssignments straight from the store, so it never saw it. The hotel was
listed as an ordinary place right under the overnight block naming it, on every
day someone booked a night for.

Filtered in getDayAssignments now, next to the service-stop filter that is there
for the neighbouring reason. That is the list itself, so the reorder and undo
paths keep reading the full day and nothing shifts underneath them. The phone
was never affected: its timeline reads the hook's copy.

Maurice 5e0245046d feat(planner): show the stop a booked night writes without a reload
The server announces the day stop over the socket like any other assignment,
but the socket deliberately skips the session that sent the request, so the one
person who could not see their new stop was the one who had just booked the
night. That looks exactly like the bug it fixes.

The stay writes hand their answer to one applier, which folds the stop into the
store through the same path the socket uses, so the IndexedDB write-through
happens either way and the dedupe by assignment id comes for free. Three
surfaces call it: the day-detail picker, its edit branch and the phone sheet.
The road-trip flow does not, because it writes its own assignment before the
stay and there is never a mirrored stop to apply.

Maurice 5b4a7e82ff feat(client): show Dawarich stays, routes and marks where they belong
The trip planner and the journal get a "From Dawarich" list: the stays
recorded for those dates, each one a row that can be dismissed or turned
into a place or an entry after a review step that shows time, name, note
and day. A place that came from a recording carries the Dawarich mark
next to its name so its origin stays visible afterwards.

The recorded route lies over the trip and journal maps as an overlay,
coloured per day and cut along the reader's own timezone rather than
UTC. It is fetched for the window on screen and never stored.

The Atlas gets its own panel beside the map for the countries and cities
the recordings prove, and the wish list is ticked off there, on the day
of the visit, undoably. The phone has its own take on all of it, in the
mobile shell's colours and with native sheets.

Maurice 5678eed55c fix(client): use TREK's own controls for tooltips and journey dates
Three small things noticed while working nearby, none of them Dawarich:

The map's layer switcher showed the browser's own tooltip while every
control beside it showed TREK's, so hovering along the row produced two
different boxes in two different styles.

The journey entry editor mixed TREK's date picker with a native time
input, and the date, which is the longer of the two, had the narrower
column: "12. Sept. 2026" wrapped while the clock sat half empty. The row
is split in the date's favour now and the picker is disabled together
with the rest of the form instead of staying live behind it.

On the phone's journey, the dock's "+" now turns into an upload button
while the Gallery tab is open, which is what that tab's one big action
actually is.

Maurice dad1316172 feat(api): let public API keys be scoped to single areas
A key could only ever read everything a user owns. When a second service
reads TREK on that user's behalf, that is more than it needs: Dawarich
wants trips, days and places, not notes, bookings or the wish list.

Keys can now be minted with an explicit list of areas, checked in the
guard and shown when the key is listed. Keys that existed before this
keep full read access, so nothing that works today stops working. A key
marked as limited whose list cannot be read grants nothing rather than
everything.

Maurice 3529b72393 feat(collab): give links the header and empty state its siblings have
The tab was built to its own pattern: a bold title where the other four
carry a small uppercase one, a counter instead of the add button, the add
form as a light block sitting on top of the list, and a grey line of text
where every other empty panel shows the mascot. Side by side with Notes it
read as a different app.

It now uses the poll panel's shell: the same header, the same pill button
top right, the same modal for the form, and the mascot holding a chain.

The load effect depended on the toast and translation objects, both of
which are new on every render, so the list refetched constantly and a link
that had just been added was dropped again by the response in flight. It
depends on the trip alone now, and reads the other two through refs.

Wenyin Wei 12eabbb685 fix(shared): cluster the public share page's markers
The share page drew every stop as its own pin while the planner drew the same
trip as a handful of clusters, so a shared link opened on three dozen
overlapping markers. On a 300px-tall map that covers a whole city, the pins
underneath can be neither read nor tapped (#2343).

The option block and the icon factory move to components/Map/markerCluster.ts,
which both maps import, so the two cannot drift apart again. The planner's
options are unchanged.

leaflet.markercluster's two stylesheets were imported by MapView.tsx alone.
The share page never mounts MapView, so it imports them itself: without them
the bubbles keep the library's default styling and spiderfy's legs are
invisible.

Maurice fdb993de62 fix(maps): project the journey map like the planner on a GCJ-02 basemap
The journey map read the same tile setting as the planner but built its
Leaflet map without the shifted CRS, so an Amap basemap put every entry a
few hundred metres off. A change of datum rebuilds the map, since Leaflet
cannot swap a CRS after construction; every other template change still
retiles in place.

Maurice 84c277993c feat(maps): show where an Amap hit came from, and keep its id
An Amap row now carries the same source mark the TREK index, OpenStreetMap
and Google rows get, named per locale because 高德地图 is the name it goes
by where it matters. The "search is on OpenStreetMap" notices and the
key hint in the details column are gone with the keys dev had already
removed, and the client-side provider mirror with them.

amap_poi_id travels with a picked result into the form, the details
column and the shadow log, so a saved place keeps the id it was found
by. A pasted Amap link goes to the resolver like a Google one.

Maurice 9307025ed0 fix(costs): derive the final budget breakdown on the server, in the same cents
The three figures under a traveler's final budget came from the server, netted
in integer trip cents at the rate frozen on each expense. The rows listed under
them did not: both shells converted the expense list again with whatever live
rate they had, and with none loaded yet (first render, offline) the raw foreign
amount went out under the display currency's symbol. On any trip with a
foreign-currency expense the rows could not add up to the line above them.

The settlement response now carries the rows with the figure: `sources` on each
finalBudgets entry lists what the person fronted per expense, the recorded
transfers on their side and the open flows, in display cents. They are filled
by the same two loops that fill the totals, so an expense with no split members
stays out of them as it stays out of the ledger, and each list is spread over its
figure's already allocated cents with the same largest-remainder split, so the
sum is exact in every display currency. The shells print those cents and only
resolve names; the rows carry the sign of the line they sit under.

RemEx e0c9a8d1b6 feat(costs): show what the trip finally costs each participant
The settle-up view says who owes whom, but nothing on the Costs screen
answers "what did the trip cost me": the balances move every time a
payment is recorded, and the tiles only describe the signed-in user.

The settlement response now carries finalBudgets, one row per participant
in the ledger: expenses (what they fronted on split expenses), reimbursed
(recorded transfers, received minus sent), pending (their current
balance) and final = expenses - reimbursed - pending.

- Computed in calculateSettlement from the same integer trip cents as the
balances, filled by the same loops, so the breakdown can never
contradict the balance printed next to it. Each component is converted
to the display currency as its own set and the final is subtracted in
display cents, so the three lines add up to the total in any currency.
- A "Final budget" card on desktop, the narrow desktop layout and the
mobile Costs tab: one amount per traveler, and a tap opens the three
lines plus the expenses, transfers and open flows behind them. The
filtering lives in CostsPanel.helpers so both shells share it.
- Contract in shared (budgetParticipantFinalSchema); the MCP
get_settlement_summary description mentions the new field it returns.
- Four new costs.* keys, translated in every locale.

Maurice 953720c874 fix(client): clamp a flipped date picker to the viewport
Anchoring the flipped popup to the trigger's top edge dropped the old
vertical clamp: with a short viewport the popup's top edge left the screen
and the month header became unreachable. The popup now flips up only when
there is room above; otherwise it stays below and is clamped so its top
edge never leaves the viewport.

Maurice aa848cc6b1 fix(budget): keep a payment's currency when it is edited on a phone
The mobile payment sheet always sent the display currency, while it seeded
the amount raw in the currency the payment was recorded in. Correcting only
the day of a 1000 JPY payment turned it into 1000 EUR and froze a fresh FX
rate for it. The sheet now carries its own currency, seeded from the
payment (or the display currency for a new one) with the same picker the
expense sheet has, and the payment row shows the recorded amount next to
the converted one when they differ, like the desktop row does.

The day is now required in both payment forms. Cleared, the server stored
NULL and the ledger quietly fell back to the day the payment was recorded.

RemEx bef11c5222 fix(client): keep a flipped date-picker popup anchored to its trigger
CustomDatePicker flipped above a trigger by subtracting a fixed worst-case
height (360) from its top, regardless of the popup's real rendered height.
When that guess overshot — a short calendar view, or a form with little
room, like the settle-up modal — the gap left the popup floating away from
its trigger and over unrelated fields instead of sitting right above it
(#2334, found while testing the settle-up date field).

Anchor the flipped case from the trigger's own top edge via `bottom`
instead, the same technique useAnchoredPosition already uses for other
popovers, so the popup is always flush against its trigger no matter its
actual height.

RemEx bd46089450 feat(budget): make a settle-up payment's date editable
The settle-up form only exposed from/to/amount and silently dated the
payment by created_at, unlike a regular expense which has an editable
date. Add a settled_at column (independent of created_at, same split as
expense_date) through the schema, migration, service, REST and MCP
surfaces, and the desktop + mobile forms; the ledger groups a payment by
settled_at, falling back to created_at for rows recorded before the
column existed.

The one model the addon offers to pull was Qwen3 8B, which is text-only, so a

back empty. Qwen3.5 4B is multimodal at a third of the size: one download
covers every kind of document instead of leaving the operator to work out that
the recommended model cannot read half of them.

The list stays one entry long. A self-hosted host needs a model, not a menu,
and any other id can still be typed in or picked from what Ollama already has.

Maurice 2c06c9904b feat(collections): a list as a file, so it can leave the instance (#2198)
Sharing a list works between people on the same TREK. This is the other
case: giving one to somebody who runs their own, or keeping a copy. Export
sits beside Edit and Share in the list header and downloads the open list;
Import sits beside New list in the rail, reads a file, shows what is in it
and makes a new list of it. Desktop only, which the route already decides.

What travels is what somebody wrote down: the list's name, colour and
description, its labels, and each place with its address, coordinates,
notes, status, contact details, category name and labels. A file is dull
JSON on purpose, so it can be read and edited by a person.

What does not travel is everything that only means something on the instance
it came from. Ids of every kind, since the receiver issues its own and a
category crosses over by name. Star ratings and members, because a rating is
an opinion somebody gave the people on that list. Provenance into trips,
which points at rows the receiver cannot see. And an image path under
/uploads, which resolves on the sender's server: only an absolute https URL
survives.

A file is a stranger's JSON and is read as one. It is parsed in the browser
that chose it and never uploaded; the parsed list goes through the same
contract on both sides; and a link that is not http(s) arrives as nothing
rather than as an anchor. Strict where it must refuse, forgiving where it
can drop: a file that does not say what it is never reaches the importer,
while one unreadable place inside it is skipped and counted, and one bad
field on a good place costs that field alone.

An import is always a new list. Importing into an existing one would mean
deciding what happens to a place that is already there, and every answer to
that is a merge nobody asked for.

Maurice 87c73e50fb feat(studio): give a book its first and its last page (#2317)
A new book was a cover, a spread and a back cover, so it opened straight
onto pages 2 and 3. A bound book does not: the inside of the cover is
blank, and the first thing facing the reader is a single right-hand page,
page 1. The same at the end, where a single left-hand page sits before the
back cover. Both are laid down now, empty, in a new book and in a laid-out
one, and they are fixed the way the covers are: an inner spread only ever
goes between them.

The page numbers follow. They were counted from a spread's position in the
array, which assumed the spread after the cover was the first, and three
places did that sum on their own. One function now counts along the book,
one page for a single leaf and two for a spread, so the sheet on screen and
the label in the print view and the folio on the page all say the same
number. A book with a first page starts at 1; a book from before the first
page existed has none and keeps the numbers it always had.

Maurice 1128bcd1c5 feat(journey): let the photo picker's calendar jump years (#2318)
The date range on the photo picker had a calendar that moved one month per
click and no other way to move. A trip three years back was thirty-six
clicks away. The header is a button now, the way the app's other calendar
works: click the month to see the year's months, click the year to see a
page of twelve years, and the arrows step whichever level is showing. A
pick steps back down, and reopening starts on the days again. The same
component serves the entry editor, which keeps its trip-day dots.

Maurice 7946c2f749 fix(maps): measure a booking line along the road before hiding it (#2275)
A short transport hop is hidden once its two ends sit closer than a few
dozen pixels, so a booking that would draw as a dot does not clutter the
map. That check compared the endpoints, which was the whole line while
every hop was straight. A car booking is routed along the road now, and a
road that leaves a town, rounds a lake and comes back to the next town along
can run across half the screen while its ends project sixty pixels apart.
The whole drive vanished until the map was zoomed far enough in for the
ends to separate, which is the gap in the route the report shows.

The decision now walks the line that will actually be drawn, road route or
arcs, and keeps the hop as soon as that reaches the floor. A straight
two-point hop measures exactly what it measured before, so every existing
threshold holds for the case it was written for. One helper serves both
renderers, which also folds the two hand-copied floor tables into it.

Maurice 9ce8b7ea9e test(roadtrip): cover the fold, the seam and the live via, and fix what that found
Cases appended to four existing suites for the lines this branch left unrun: the
fold state and the map places it hides, the owner-based via anchor, the day seam
and the proportional geometry slicing, and the live roadtripVia:changed events.
With the four new suites in the commits before this one, coverage of the lines
this branch adds goes from 69 % to 96 %, measured the way the gate measures it —
the routed lines against the diff, not a file average.

Every added case was mutation-checked: the rule it claims to pin was broken in
the source and the case had to fail. Two of them found real defects rather than
missing coverage, and both are fixed here.

A via dropped on the incoming night drive went to the wrong leg. The guard for
it asked the insert index whether the point lay before the card's first stop,
and that index cannot answer: insertIndexForAlong clamps to at least 1 for any
card with two stops or more, and the rail publishes no other kind. So the branch
read correctly and never ran, and a via on the night stretch was filed after the
first drawn stop — the route ran forward, doubled back to the point and carried
on, which is exactly what the comment above it said must not happen. Asked of
the distance instead.

The two one-field writes the rail offers, the stop kind and the fill level, went
straight to the API while their neighbour checked place_edit first. The server
refused them, so nothing was ever saved, but a reader got an error toast for
touching a control that should not have acted.

Maurice a9907e2f10 feat(plugins): let a plugin answer place searches from its own index
TREK searches its own place index and OpenStreetMap. Neither carries a rating,
so "the best rated hotel around here" has never been answerable, and an operator
with a better index for their region had no way to reach the search box at all.
The searchProvider hook is that way in: a plugin is handed the query, a limit,
the language and the coordinate the search is biased toward, and answers with
places in the same shape the core search returns, plus a rating.

It sits beside the core search rather than inside it. The plugin runtime already
imports PlacesModule, which imports MapsModule, so asking the providers from the
maps service would close a module cycle — the same reason the other fourteen
contribution controllers stand next to what they contribute to. The client asks
both at once and merges, at the single point every caller already goes through,
so all nine search surfaces get plugin hits without knowing the hook exists.

A plugin index may never hold up the list: the client stops waiting at two and a
half seconds and the host gives a provider two, which is also why the budget is
the shortest of any hook here. With no such plugin installed the route answers
without reaching the runtime at all.

Every hit is normalized host-side and shared by the REST route and the MCP tool,
so a cap that holds for the browser holds for the assistant: coordinates are
range-checked, strings capped, the rating clamped to 0..5, a website must be
http or https, and ids are namespaced so they can never collide with an OSM one.

search_places_via_plugins is the MCP half, because what the user can see the
assistant has to be able to see; search_place now points at it.

Maurice 3f0eb210d8 feat(roadtrip): move a stop reached after midnight onto the day it is reached
A day that runs past midnight used to keep every one of its stops on its own
card, so day one ended at 03:12 with three places nobody reaches on day one and
day two began with a drive that had already happened. The rail now lays the
stops out by the date they are actually reached: when the clock goes backwards
between two arrivals the ones after it move to the following day, into a block
that says where they came from, and the night drive and its kilometres go with
them. It is an arrangement, not a write — the day planner beside it is
untouched, nothing reaches the database, and a shorter stay the evening before
puts everything back on its own.

The map follows the same arrangement, because a boundary drawn in the rail and
not on the map is two answers to one question. Day one now ends where its last
reachable stop is and the line, the legs and the totals are cut to match.

Two switches in the driving settings, off by default. "Connect the days" routes
the gap between one day's last stop and the next day's first, which is real
driving the rail has never drawn, and counts it. "A colour per day" then puts
the days back into a line that has become continuous, and tints each day header
to match.

Collapsing a day from its header takes its route and its places off the map as
well as out of the rail, and the categories in the corridor panel fold the same
way. The refuel band is one full-width red band with the pump as its button,
the results are chips, and the driving dialog is two columns of panels with the
figures on one right edge.

Also fixes a via that would not adjust the route once dragged. Five separate
causes, all measured rather than guessed: leg threading used the card index
instead of the owning day's, the anchor lookup returned chain indices, it
filtered by the card rather than by the anchor's owner, seams were routed
without their vias, and a seam once routed was never re-fetched.
