openShapes() skipped every schema node it had already visited, so one
z.unknown() instance reused across four fields counted once, and a
baselined schema could gain any number of open fields that share a node
without its count moving. z.map(), z.set() and z.custom() were not walked
at all, so an open value inside them counted nothing.
An open spot now counts once per path it sits at, and the visited set is
only a guard on the ancestor chain, so a recursive z.lazy() still
terminates. The same kind at the same path is listed once, which keeps the
two sides of an intersection from counting a shared field twice. Map keys
and values and set values are walked, and z.custom()/z.instanceof() count
as a custom open shape. The request schemas hold the same 75 open shapes
under the new walk, so the baseline does not change; the spec covers
reuse, recursion and the new types.
The server's boot gate only checks that a write route has a Zod DTO, not
that the schema constrains anything, and 47 of the 213 exported request
schemas hold an open shape: a loose object, a record of unknown, or an
unknown field. shared/CLAUDE.md already says to narrow those rather than
add new ones, but nothing counted them.
scripts/open-request-schemas.mjs walks every exported *RequestSchema and
counts its open shapes against a baseline of today's 75. A new request
schema may hold none and an existing one no more than its entry;
--update only lowers. The CLI checks the built dist/ for CI, and
src/open-request-schemas.spec.ts runs the same walk over src/ so the
shared test run fails as well. A missing or malformed baseline, or a
dist/ without a single request schema, is an error.
Finishes the plural work the previous wip commit started. t() picks a
count string's form by the language's own Intl.PluralRules, and every
locale now spells out the forms its language reaches with whole
numbers, about 160 count strings in all: one, few and many in Russian,
Ukrainian and Polish, one and few in Czech and Slovak, five forms in
Arabic, one in the others, none in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai,
Vietnamese and Indonesian. Each language was translated and then
reviewed on its own. English no longer reads "1 files", "1 updates
available" or "photo(s)".
Count labels shown next to a number now take that number too: the
atlas and admin statistics, the trip cards, journey and shared trip
pills, packing templates, receipts, storage usage, the Studio export
note. A heading that shared its key with a counted label keeps a key of
its own (the boarding pass heading, the Bookings tab), so languages that
put a noun after a number in the singular keep a plural heading. The
plugin hosts chip passed its count through .replace() after t() and
never got a form; three toasts sent the count as text. Mail and push
texts for shared photos and suppressed storage failures pick their form
in code through pluralForm.
A whole number sent as text counts too, which is how in-app
notification params arrive, and the plural rule follows the language of
the strings on screen while another one still loads.
The parity check knows which forms each language needs and refuses
missing and impossible ones. It also reads keys that contain a colon
now: it skipped them, which hid 58 missing plugin permission texts in
Catalan and 35 in Vietnamese, both translated. The client parity test
covers every language of the registry instead of a hand-kept list of 19,
and the placeholder spec lets a form spell its number out only where
its category is that one number. Brazilian Portuguese error screens
were in Breton, and an Arabic dashboard label held Hebrew text.
computeTourMetrics indexed points[i - 1] and points[i], which the shared
package's noUncheckedIndexedAccess reads as possibly undefined, so the
shared typecheck in CI failed since the metrics moved there. It walks the
points pairwise from the first one now; the numbers are the same.
Unfinished, continued in the next session: t() resolves key.one/.few/...
by the language's own plural rule, the parity check knows which forms a
language needs, 16 singular/plural key pairs are merged in every locale
and every count === 1 branch in the client uses the plural form. Still
open: the forms each locale needs for the remaining count strings, the
two new labels in every locale, and 35 tests that expect the old English
wording.
A tourRepo replaces the direct toursApi calls: reads fall back to a new
Dexie tours table, and a tour saved or edited offline is written there and
queued like a place, under one temporary id for the place and its facet.
The queue moves both to the real id on replay and drops both when the
server refuses the create. Trip sync caches each trip's tours while the
addon is on, so a tour no longer reads as a plain place offline.
The tour metrics move to shared so the offline copy shows the server's
numbers, and useTourPlaceIds keeps one Set per change as intended.
tour_types now holds every key the shared contract accepts, all but hike
disabled, and create and edit turn a disabled type away with a 400 instead
of failing on the foreign key. tours.tour_group_id is dropped: nothing ever
wrote or read it. difficulty and wanderer_ref stay for the Wanderer import.
Both locales had their notification texts, but the index never imported
them, so their users got English mails and the parity gate passed
because the files existed. The locale map is now typed against the
supported languages, so the next one left out fails to compile.
TREK's codes 'br' (Brazilian Portuguese) and 'gr' (Greek) went straight
into <html lang> and into ten Intl calls. 'br' is Breton, so Brazilian
users got Breton month names and screen readers announced the page as
Breton; 'gr' is no language at all, so Greek users got the default
locale. getIntlLanguage maps both, and every one of those sites goes
through it.
A queued change the server answered with a 5xx was put back at the head
of the line and the whole flush stopped, every 30 seconds, forever: one
bad payload held every later change of every trip. Now only its own
trip waits, with gaps doubling from 30 s, and after eight failures it is
parked as failed. A DELETE answered 404 counts as done instead of
showing as a failed sync. Settings > Offline offers to try parked
changes again or discard them.
The Tours surfaces now use the same building blocks as the rest of the
planner: tinted head bands, eyebrow labels, white field boxes and pills,
place-style list rows and the inspector frame for the map detail.
- Tour detail on the map uses the place inspector's frame, head band,
labelled metric fields, collapsible track colour and footer buttons
- Tour rows in the Plan sidebar and the Tours tab look like place rows,
with the facts as pills and a "+" that opens the trip's days as a menu
- Tours tab rails get the planner head bands, editor fields and
waypoint rows in the day card style; notices share one look
- Map hint shortened to one line and the empty state reads as a single
sentence in all locales
- New "tours" mascot scene with a pack, a trekking pole, hills and a
trail, used by the Tours empty states
PlacesSidebarHeader uses the UNCATEGORIZED constant, placesBrowserModel stops
re-exporting matchesCategoryFilter (its test imports it from utils/placesFilter),
and the orphan comment in the en places strings joins the places.filters key.
On a phone the only way to narrow the trip's pins was to leave the map for
the places list, and the rating floor could not be set at all. The phone map
now has a round "Filters" control at the foot of its right-hand stack, badged
with how many filters are on, opening a sheet with the pool (all / unplanned /
planned / tracks), the minimum rating (the desktop list's floors), the trip's
categories including "no category", and a reset. It is hidden on the road trip
stage, which draws its own pins.
The places browser's filter panel gains the same rating floor; its category
rows move into MPlacesFilterControls so the panel and the sheet share one
copy. Everything writes the trip store, so list and map stay in step.
MapTogglePill takes an optional count badge.
Admin > Notifications gets a Defaults for users matrix: each event and channel starts On, Off (a user may still turn it on) or Blocked (off for everyone). A user's own choice is kept against the default, and a value equal to it is stored as no row, so a later change of the default reaches everyone who never chose. Blocked cells show as locked in the user settings on desktop and phone, and the server ignores any attempt to turn one on. (#1536)
Admin > Settings > Google options gets a daily limit with today's count beside it. Every call through the Places and Routes clients is counted per UTC day; once the limit is reached the Google key reads as absent until the next day, so search, details and photos fall back to OpenStreetMap the way a keyless install does, and the admin sees that the day is used up. (#1582)
The 50 MB limit for files, booking attachments and note attachments becomes FILE_UPLOAD_LIMIT_MB, 50 by default. The server hands it to the client through the app config, so the upload dialogs refuse a file over it up front and say what the limit is; on desktop a file over it no longer vanishes without a word. (#1364)
While a trip is running, today's chip on the phone carries a ring and a dot, and a button beside the rail jumps back to today from wherever it was scrolled, in the plan and on the map. It stays in place, dimmed, while today is open, so the rail never shifts under the thumb. (#2392)
The handles on the day plan and the places panel only listened to the mouse, so on an iPad they did nothing, and in the portrait band they were left out. They now follow a finger as well, show a grip on touch screens, keep the page and the map from taking the gesture, and stay in the narrow layout within the room the map needs. As separators they also move with the arrow keys. (#1012)
The password policy moves to @trek/shared, where the server keeps enforcing it unchanged and every form that sets a password now runs it before sending: the forced change after the first login, registration, the reset link, the account settings on desktop and phone, and creating or editing a user in admin. Under each new password a checklist ticks off length, upper and lower case, a number and a special character, and a refusal names the actual reason, a too common or too repetitive password included. (#1200)
A booked stay's pill in the day head gets a second target that opens the booking; the name still opens the place. The place panel of a hotel, on the desktop and on the phone, lists the stay booked for it next to the bookings pinned to the stop. (#2363)
Under the payers, a Split line lists every member of the expense with their share and a tick once they marked it paid, so checking that the right people are in no longer means opening each expense. More than six fold into a +N chip with the rest in its tooltip. (#1763)
The notes of a flight, train or rental print under its booking code, like the notes of a place. A Transport notes switch next to Page break per day leaves them out and is remembered; it only shows when a transport has a note. (#1571)
The counterpart of last_trip for a homepage widget: the nearest trip that has not started yet, with its countries and the whole days until it starts, or null when nothing is planned. A trip under way stays last_trip, so the two never name the same trip. (#2542)
Small requests from the discussions, each built end to end: planner and
map (cycling mode, date first headings, clear a day, stay times per day,
off-route stops, map lock, compact unplanned markers, pending stays,
cable car, transit quick picks), places (location filter, category from
OSM, open in maps, geo: link, image from an attachment, enrichment on
file import, places near a pin, place name language, Amap first in
China), lists and costs (packed counter, inherited sharing, Markdown
to-dos, payment notes, bookings CSV, my plan PDF), sharing (unplanned
places, travel only, without photos), journey (photo zoom, drafts,
photo order, trip suggestion, day jump), atlas (region counter, region
bucket list, places per country), vacay half company holidays, studio
copy and paste plus the book's own layouts, and RESTORE_FROM_BACKUP for
a first start restore.
Booking a night writes the hotel onto its check-in day as a stop, seated first
or at its check-in, so the drive reaches it even without hotel bookends. With
"Start and end each day at your stay" on, the evening row already ends that day
at the same hotel, so the road trip drove check-out, tonight's hotel, the day's
places and back to the hotel again. Days hides that stop and draws the stay at
the day's edges only.
seatNightBookends now passes over the stop tonight's booking wrote whenever it
seats that stay as the day's evening, in the browser and in calculate_roadtrip
alike. The stops keep their stored index, a hotel the traveller placed stays,
and the booking's stop stays while it is the day's last one or no evening is
seated. With the switch off nothing changes.
Closes#2546
A switch at the end of the list's tab row shows every list's items in name
order, so checking whether something is already on the list no longer means
reading all of it. The order follows the reader's language (accents beside
their letter, "Shirt 2" before "Shirt 10") and the empty list stand-in stays
at the bottom.
Sorting only changes what is shown: the manual order stays stored and comes
back with a second click. While sorted the drag grips step aside, the box
keeps its column, and the choice is remembered per browser.
The page a share link opens is rebuilt from top bar to footer: the
planner's light top bar with the language picker, the trip as a hero
made of its cover, a tab bar that stays in reach, the days as the
planner's cards beside a map that stays in view, bookings as the
booking cards, packing and costs as cards with their progress and
shares, the chat as bubbles, and empty states for sections the owner
shared with nothing in them yet.
The map picks its day in a select with a step back and forth instead
of a row of chips a three-week trip did not fit into.
Share opens on the shared dialog frame: the trip's name and the number of
people in the head band, members and guests on the left, the public link
and the invite link as two cards on the right. Rows carry their actions as
icon buttons named by their tooltips, and removing a member, leaving,
handing over the trip or removing a guest asks in the app's own dialog
instead of the browser's. The invite link can no longer be created twice by
a double click. The phone, which opens the same dialog from its More sheet,
keeps the sheet it had; both run on one set of hooks.
Save to list has the place's name in the head band, Mark visited as a pill
beside it, the lists as rows with a tick, and View at its foot.
The public link's hint loses its dash in every language, and the help
guides and wiki pages of the Share dialog show the new look.
The guides of the map, bookings, costs, files, collab, lists, road trip and
transports now describe the desktop as it is after the redesign: the bars
with their icon buttons and filter popovers, the dialogs with the title in
the head band and status and type as pills, the three booking views and
the booking detail, the compact note cards, the Costs table. Two guides
are new: the booking views (cards, list, timeline, the Trip and Day zoom
and the detail) and the Costs table view. Every changed text is translated
into every locale, and the Plan tab texts call the bookings tab by the
label it shows, Book.
Every picture of the thirteen trip screens is taken again against the new
layout, on one picture day. Scripts follow the new markup; the Dawarich
fixture uploads its recording again when the stored one belongs to another
run, and the spare poll gets its vote from a member so its winner shows
green.
server-launch.mjs skips the server build with E2E_SERVER_PREBUILT, so
several recordings on their own port pairs can share one dist.
vi called the Tracks filter "songs", sv the pending status "commuting", nl
the open-now pill "opening hours", and tr showed "its plan" on the Plan tab
and "being suspended" for pending. The road trip strings added in August
had lost their accents in eight languages (Arrive and Leave, the stay
buttons, the whole day and halfway filters, the avoidance options), uk had
a Latin i in "halfway", hu and tr called No tolls "free of charge", and az
put an en dash between the two ends. sv and vi said "I owe" for I'm owed and
You're owed, sv had "Namnn" as the table's Name, and th said "split
equally" for Split matches total.
The climate hint of the day details and the Unfinished tooltip in Costs
lose their dash in every language.
Costs gets a second view next to the ledger: the expenses as a table grouped
by category, with name, date, total, persons and days editable in place and
the per person and per day figures worked out beside them. A total with a
payer or in a foreign currency stays locked and opens the expense instead, so
balances and frozen rates are never changed behind the dialog. In the table
view the side column shows a summary by category, day, payer and status. The
switch sits in the bar and the choice is remembered; the ledger stays the
default.
On the Plan tab a place's reservation shows as one Reservation pill whose
colour carries the status and which opens the booking, and the drop line of
a drag that lost its source row now clears on the next mouse move. The
booking detail formats its times in the user's clock, and a hotel without a
check-out runs to the end of the last day in the timeline.
The wiki pages of the trip are rewritten for the new layout, with new
screenshots from the screenshot run (new Plan tab, bookings, transports,
dialogs, costs table). The help center guides of the Plan tab are rewritten
and translated into every locale, and every new string is translated.
