Registering an OAuth client by hand and getting only "Failed to register
OAuth client" left nothing to act on: the server names the rule it broke (a
scope, the ten-client cap, a redirect URI it will not take) and the toast
swallowed it in a bare catch. Both shells show the server's message now and
keep the generic text for a failure that carries none.
FE-COMP-INTEGRATIONS-004, -015 and -016 took the first <code> and the first
Copy button on the tab and expected the MCP endpoint. Since the API keys card
shows the /api/v1 address with a copy button of its own (#2371), and it sits
above the MCP section, those queries landed on the API card: the URL read
/api/v1 and the click copied it. The cases now go through the endpoint's own
label.
SonarQube's S2699 flagged 196 test cases as assertion-less. Almost all of
them end on a bare `await screen.findByText(...)`, which does throw when the
text never shows up — the test is real, the analyser just cannot see it.
Spelling the check out keeps the behaviour identical and makes it readable.
Writing them out turned three tests red, each for a good reason:
- FE-COMP-NOTES-008 read the heading out of the loading panel, which renders
its own copy and swaps the whole node out once the fetch settles. It now
waits for the loaded state.
- FE-COMP-PHOTOPROVIDERS-014 matched /connected/i, which also matches the
"Not connected" the badge starts as — the test passed whether or not the
button did anything. Exact text now.
- FE-FILES-002 compared an empty list against the empty list it already was.
It seeds a file first, so the 500 has something to leave alone.
JOURNEY-SVC-066 asserted nothing at all behind a "should not throw" comment;
it now says that out loud and checks no journey entry is left orphaned.
Adds new and expanded test suites across client and server to cover the
OAuth 2.1 scope system, MCP session manager, collab service, unified
memories helpers, OIDC service, budget slice, and OAuth authorize page.
Also extends SonarQube coverage exclusions to include bootstrapping files
(migrations, scheduler, main.tsx, types.ts) that are not meaningfully
testable.
Adds an OAuth 2.1 public client registration flow so MCP clients can
self-register via a user-facing consent page instead of requiring manual
setup in Settings.
Server:
- DB migration adds `is_public` and `created_via` columns to oauth_clients
- New GET /api/oauth/register/validate — validates DCR params, returns
requested scopes; unauthenticated callers get loginRequired flag
- New POST /api/oauth/register — creates a public client, saves consent,
and redirects with client_id (cookie auth required)
- `authenticateClient` / `refreshTokens` skip secret check for public
clients (PKCE provides the security guarantee)
- `createOAuthClient` accepts options for isPublic/createdVia; public
clients store an opaque secret hash instead of a usable secret
- `rotateOAuthClientSecret` blocked on public clients
- `isValidRedirectUri` extracted as a shared helper
- Discovery metadata now advertises registration_endpoint and auth method
`none`; token/revoke endpoints no longer require client_secret for
public clients
Client:
- New OAuthRegisterPage (/oauth/register) — loading → optional
login-required gate → scope selection → done states
- New ScopeGroupPicker component — collapsible groups, indeterminate
checkboxes, select-all per group or globally
- oauthApi.register.{validate,submit} added to api/client.ts
- apiClient exported so it can be reused outside api/client.ts
- IntegrationsTab tests fixed for new collapsible section structure
- collab_notes fallback changed from undefined to [] in MCP trip tools
