fix(client): three more places follow the reading direction in Arabic
On a phone in Arabic every system notice, the release notes included, opened as an empty sheet: its three-slot strip is shifted to show the middle slot, and in a right-to-left row that shift moved all three out of view. The shifts point the other way in a right-to-left page now, which the swipe handling already assumed. The budget's total amount kept its parts in order but sat on the opposite edge from its label, because the whole row was made left to right. Only the amount itself is now. The phone chat's bubble tails were still physical corners while the desktop ones follow the row; both use logical corners now. lint:rtl takes comments from the TypeScript parser instead of scanning lines, so a "/*" inside a string (accept="image/*") no longer hides the lines after it. |

fix(client): spacing and alignment follow the reading direction
Arabic runs the app right to left, but margins, paddings, insets, text alignment, borders and corner radii were written for the left side, so icons sat against the wrong edge of their labels, indents and badges pointed the wrong way and amount columns aligned left. They now use the logical forms (ms-, ps-, start-, text-start, marginInlineStart, insetInlineEnd and their CSS equivalents), which are the very same sides in a left to right language. Geometry stays physical on purpose: maps, positions measured from the pointer or a bounding box, time axes, sliders, transforms and print output. Amounts drawn as several spans keep their order in a right to left row, the time picker keeps hours before minutes, and two switches whose thumb slid out of its track in Arabic now move the right way. lint:rtl counts what is still physical per file against a baseline that may only shrink (1512 uses in 370 files before, 319 in 113 now), and CI runs it, so new code reaches for the logical forms. |

fix(client): the audit round over the 4.3.1 release
Ride minutes and late marks follow an edited timetable instead of the routing that fetched them; a landing day's join band reads as the ride it is rather than a nine hour drive of no length; the refuel offer is there on the road out of a terminal or a pick-up desk; the phone's stage map draws the ride; the share page numbers its stops the way the planner does; the PDF lists a day the way the day plan lists it, from both shells; a poster-less clip draws its play badge everywhere, not only in the editor; the hero title has room for its descenders and the list card keeps its badge clear; the release notice keeps its close control in reach when it stacks; a link chip's actions are thumb-sized and its delete asks first; the Google retry line and the Google-only switch appear only where Google answers. |

fix(notices): keep the promise box whole when the note has to scroll
On a 1080p screen at 100% the release notice's right column runs out of height. The column scrolls, but the promise box is a flex item with overflow hidden, so it may shrink to nothing and was pressed down to its label while the paragraphs around it kept their height. Everything inside the two scrolling columns now keeps its size. Below 1080px the halves stack and the panel scrolls; the single minmax row that keeps the two-column layout inside the panel starved the release half to zero height there. The rows go back to auto, and the ask sticks to the bottom edge once the note is in view. |

feat(notices): document sync joins the release notice as a fourth, wide card
Paperless-ngx, Papra, Nextcloud, OpenCloud and Synology Drive are a headliner of this release and were missing from the notice. The card runs across the row under the three upright ones, picture beside the text, so the panel keeps its height: the wordmark without its API pill, the two-way arrow, and the five stores as tiles. The panel's grid row is capped at the panel's height, so a short viewport scrolls the left column instead of clipping the support buttons on the right. The headline counts four, the intro and the card texts are shorter, and the Dawarich card drops its last sentence, in all 23 languages. The release e2e test asks with the bundle version, as the client does. |

fix: the findings of the final 4.3.0 audit
Every file the release touches was read once more, and what survived an independent check against the code is fixed here, with a test for each. Data and credentials - A document sync connection edited to a new address no longer carries the stored token along: a blank form under another origin is refused, the same rule the probe route already had. Dawarich and AirTrail testConnection send the stored key only to the host it was stored for. - The key rotation script now covers document_connections.secrets and trip_document_links.webhook_secret, which it had skipped. - Turning a booked night into a pause in the road trip popup asks first and says that the booking and its expense go with it. Deleting a place says the same when a night is booked there, on the desktop and on the phone. - A moved version marker over unchanged bytes no longer replaces the TREK file and its attachments; a real revision carries the attachments over. Planner - A drop in the day plan names the row it lands ahead of in the full day, so a hidden hotel stop no longer shifts it one slot early; the store sorts before it splices. Via re-anchoring, the booked-night guard and the sidebar's day membership read the stored day, the index space the server uses. - A hotel stop placed mid-day re-pins the road trip vias of that day, and the booking session receives the new stop order too. The Public API and the iCal feed list a booked hotel once. A plugin can no longer write a stay against another trip's day. Road trip and map - The route overview paces its requests to the public routers and retries a rate limit, and it says which legs it could not route instead of quietly reporting a shorter trip. A click on a via handle no longer drops a second via; handles hide when zooming out. Read-only members cannot edit the driving limits. The phone shows a way back when no day is picked and prints the night drive departure in the chosen clock format. Integrations and search - Google transit keeps conventional trains when the train chip is on. TREK_PLACES_ENABLED=false stops the details and enrichment calls too, and accepts the whole boolean family. A caller-supplied description no longer lands in the instance-wide enrichment cache. Nominatim searches carry a timeout. An OSM place id is checked for shape before it reaches Overpass. - Dawarich puts a stay on the trip whose dates hold it, the Atlas hand-off knows what the Atlas already shows, and a host change with a new key clears the old instance's state. - Document sync: a webhook address pasted by hand works on the token alone, deleting a connection unregisters its subscriptions, Nextcloud under a sub-path connects, Synology answers a name collision before uploading and verifies a move into the bin, Paperless titles are capped at 128 characters, a DNS failure reads as unreachable rather than as a policy verdict, videos from the store are accepted like uploads, and remote_missing has a way out. Conflict buttons only for the owner, a refused choice is reported, a refused credential gets a Reconnect button, disconnecting asks first on the desktop as it does on the phone, and the folder picker no longer spins forever. Release - The server holds the release notice back from a bundle that cannot draw it, so the previous shell served from the service worker cache after an update no longer shows bare keys and no longer lets a click use the notice up. - Import into an existing list gets the same body limit as a new list. Chat images say when the limit is reached and the new controls are translated. The transit backend switch reports a failed save. The Helm chart carries the Amap credentials in its Secret; the shipped templates document the Places API and Amap variables and the Overpass default. The wiki follows. |

fix(system-notices): a notice waits rather than showing its own key names
The keys come from the server's registry, the copy from the bundle in the browser, and a deploy parts the two for as long as it takes the page to reload: the service worker keeps serving the old app while /api/config already reports the new version, and the release notice for that very version arrives naming keys the old bundle never had. What is drawn is then system_notice.release_notes.headline where the headline belongs, on the one notice whose whole job is to be read once per release. Worse, a dismissal in that window is a real one. The entry is per-version, so whoever closes the gibberish never sees the notes for that release at all. So a notice made only of unresolved keys is held back until the reload App.tsx is already waiting for. Nothing is spent by waiting: a notice is used up by POST /dismiss and by nothing else. A release notice is judged by the strings its own two-column layout draws, not by the generic title and body it never shows. Copy written out in words rather than keyed is left alone, and one resolved string is enough to show a notice: a notice hidden by mistake is the worse failure. |

feat(notices): bring the release notes back on every update
The release modal takes the 4.3.0 design: the release and its headline cards on the left, the note and the support links on the right, at the design's own size. The cards carry small drawings of the features instead of an icon. The 4.0.0 entry is retired. In its place sits one entry, release-notes, that every big release rewrites and keeps. It recurs per version with no upper bound, so every user sees it once on each update, whatever they did with it before, and a reload of the same version keeps it closed. An integration test holds that promise through the real entry and the real dismiss route. All 23 locales carry the new copy and drop the 4.0.0 strings. |

fix(maps): let users and admins enter a CARTO API key (#2060)
CARTO stamps an "API KEY REQUIRED" watermark onto every basemap tile fetched without a key since 26.08.2026, and both CartoDB presets plus the built-in fallback are CARTO. The key is free and needs no account, so add it as a setting rather than dropping the provider. carto_api_key sits next to mapbox_access_token: per user in Settings/Map, instance-wide under Admin/User Defaults, encrypted at rest, injected from CARTO_API_KEY on managed instances. Unlike Mapbox it never switches the map provider, since a raster key says nothing about the renderer. The key is appended as ?key= at render time instead of being stored in the template, so a saved URL stays portable and survives a rotation. That is also what reaches the four maps that pinned CARTO and ignored the user's tile setting: atlas, collections, the public trip share and the public journey. The two share pages read it from their token-gated payload, the same way baseCurrency already travels. Also lifts the release notice above page chrome. Its overlay sat at z-index 50, under the Vacay mode toolbar at 61, so the dialog was neither on top nor modal. Adds a six-step layer scale to index.css and moves the three notice shells onto it. fix: make the app keyboard-reachable, and close four DoS-able patterns
The bulk of what SonarQube still had open on the reliability side, read site by
site rather than swept. Two clusters are worth calling out because they are
defects, not lint.
**Four regexes could be made to hang the process.** The worst is
`/.+@.+\..+/` in the forgot-password path: three unbounded `.+` that all
overlap, unanchored, on an endpoint that needs no login and whose schema is a
bare z.string() under a 100kb body cap. A thousand '@' characters had not
finished after 100 seconds — one request pins the event loop, and Node has one.
EMAIL_REGEX in auth.helpers is the same shape on register and profile update
(310ms for 8kb). The two tag strippers over an uploaded KML description and over
Commons metadata took 0.52s on a 16k run of '<'. Each rewrite was proven
equivalent by brute force against the original — millions of strings for the
coordinate patterns, 671,876 for the tag stripper — because a subtly different
regex on a parsing path is worse than the finding.
`<[^>]+>` could not be fixed in the pattern: `[^>]` matches `<` too, so the only
unambiguous form changes what happens to malformed markup. It is now a scan in
common/stripHtmlTags.ts, quirks included — `<>` is left alone, `<a<b>` is one
tag — with the equivalence pinned by a test that compares against the old regex
over every string up to length six.
**And roughly 500 places could only be reached with a mouse.** Clickable divs
became real buttons where the markup allowed (52 of them), took
role + tabIndex + Enter/Space where they had to stay divs, and modal backdrops
took role="presentation" — the honest role, since a backdrop is a mouse shortcut
for a Cancel control that is already in the tab order, and making it a button
plants a nameless full-screen tab stop around its own contents.
Alongside those: `.sort()` calls that now say the order they always had, `{n &&
<X/>}` guards that rendered a literal "0" for a zero-byte file and for a place at
latitude 0, an optimistic budget write that stored a boolean where the contract
and both transports use 0/1, and the Number statics.
sonar-project.properties documents the six that were deliberately left: two wiki
patterns with no overlapping quantifier pair whose "fix" would stop parsing
`[see [1]](url)`, four tar header fields bounded at 12-155 bytes by the format,
two djb2 hashes where the 32-bit wrap is the algorithm, two `| 0` that are also
coercing undefined to 0 on a path where the API sends no user_id, and the MCP
session maps Sonar reads as empty because they are filled from another module.

fix: clear every open Sonar security issue, and half the reliability ones (#2037)
* fix(security): mint idempotency keys properly, and resolve the extractor by path Three findings out of a sweep of every open Sonar security issue. The other 49 turned out to be false positives and are documented in sonar-project.properties rather than changed — each entry scoped to a file, never a whole rule, so a future Math.random() on an auth path still fails. The idempotency key is the one that can lose data. Both producers fell back to Math.random when crypto.randomUUID was missing, and randomUUID needs a secure context — TREK's own quickstart is http://localhost:3000 and LAN installs run on http://192.168.x.x, so on the deployments the README documents the fallback is what actually runs. The axios one was `Math.random().toString(36).slice(2)`, which is not length-stable: 0.5 yields a single character and 0 yields the empty string, which the interceptor reads as "no key" and skips deduplication for entirely. Two writes sharing a key collapse into one — the second gets the first one's cached response and the edit is gone with no error anywhere. Both now come from utils/randomId, which has the getRandomValues rung that works in insecure contexts too. The extractor probe stored the bare binary name, so every extraction re-resolved it through whatever PATH held at that moment. The official image sets KITINERARY_EXTRACTOR_PATH and never reaches that branch, but a bare-metal install without it ran an unqualified name from a PATH it does not control. It now walks the search path itself and keeps the absolute path of the file it verified; execFileSync also drops the /bin/sh hop the old probe needed. PATH comes through app-config because process.env is walled off in src/. * fix: four tests and sorts that were not doing what they claimed Sonar reported 43 high-impact reliability issues. Reading all of them, four are real; the rest are cosmetic or would be made worse by the suggested change. budget.test.ts hand-built `paid: true`, but both emitters send `paid: body.paid ? 1 : 0` and the handler stores the value verbatim — the test asserted a payload the server never sends. The line below it already used a number. admin.controller.test.ts had a `.resolves` assertion with no await. The promise was dropped, so that line could not fail the test. The two to-do category lists sorted with a bare .sort(), which is byte order: every accented name files behind the whole ASCII range, so in a German trip "Übernachtung" lands after "Zelt". TREK ships 23 locales, so this is real data. One side effect worth knowing: katColor picks a category's dot colour by its index, so re-sorting can move which category shows which colour — it already moves whenever a category is added, and the colour carries no meaning. Deliberately not changed: the two `| 0` truncations (Math.trunc is not equivalent — `| 0` wraps at 32 bits and these carry millisecond timestamps), the two .map() callbacks whose second parameter is declared and used, and the sha1 in thumbnail.service (its own comment says a swap would orphan every existing thumbnail). * refactor: give every button a type, and prefer the Number statics Two mechanical sweeps, no behaviour change intended in either. A <button> with no type attribute is type="submit" per the HTML spec. Outside a form that does nothing today, but it turns into a surprise the moment the markup is wrapped in one, which is what Sonar's S9011 is warning about. 870 buttons get an explicit type="button". Two things were left alone on purpose: buttons that take a {...spread}, because the spread may carry a type and the merge order decides which wins, and anything inside a <form> — there the answer is a judgement call, and checking all eleven form files found every real submit button already carrying type="submit". The Number sweep covers only the three globals that are exactly equivalent to their Number twin: parseInt, parseFloat and NaN. isNaN is NOT in it — the global coerces its argument, so isNaN('abc') is true where Number.isNaN('abc') is false, and renaming it would change what the code does. It reaches server and plugin-sdk as well as the client; both copies of egress-policy.ts got the identical edit, so the mirror the SDK's parity test guards stays intact. |
||
|
|
c75e958fc0 |
fix(client, sdk): the smaller silent failures, and a dead SDK test file
The SDK's parity suite had an unescaped apostrophe in an it() title, so the file did not parse and vitest reported it as "no tests". Both guards in it were dead - including the byte-identical egress-policy check the package's own notes call the worst possible bug in that module to lose. No CI job runs the SDK suite, so it landed quietly; the next npm publish would have failed on it, since prepublishOnly runs the tests. Also in the SDK: the dev preview answered trek:geolocation without checking the geolocation:read grant, so a plugin whose manifest is missing the permission works perfectly in dev and is dead once installed. That is the lenient direction, which is the one that ships broken plugins. Client side: the background-task poll never dismissed a 404'd import job and spun forever, "Update All" collapsed its busy flag after the first plugin settled, the lightbox had no cancellation so a slow signed URL rendered the wrong image, the plugin geolocation watch was torn down by any unrelated settings write, manual date entry accepted 31 February, cover previews were never revoked, and check-all issued one request per packing item. |

feat(notices): add the 4.0.0 release modal
The thank-you modal was one column of markdown for every notice. A release needs more room than that: what shipped, and why it took what it took. Adds a `release` block to the notice contract. A notice carrying it renders through ReleaseNoticeModal instead of the generic body — the release on the left, the note from the maintainer on the right, both halves driven entirely by translation keys so the next release only edits the registry entry. Sizing lives on one CSS variable (--rn-s), so the panel scales as a piece and the design's proportions hold at every breakpoint. The thank-you notice gets maxVersion 4.0.0: from there on the release modal carries the same thank-you and the same two support links, and installs still on 3.x keep the old one. All 23 locales. |

fix: eleven reported bugs across atlas, budget, collections, journey, vacay and the LLM settings (#1923)
* fix(mcp): accept per-leg times on create_transport and update_transport metadata was pinned to Record<string, string>, so a legs array could not get through and a multi-leg flight built over MCP lost every intermediate time. The booking ended up with correct endpoints and no legs, which every reader then treats as a single segment. legs is now a real, typed parameter with its contract in @trek/shared, shaped exactly the way the planner form and the importers write metadata.legs. The folding checks what the readers depend on: one leg fewer than endpoints (the AirTrail dedupe builds its signatures on that), day ids that belong to the trip, airport codes that agree with their endpoint, and the times, where a stopover endpoint carries the departure and the last one the arrival. metadata keeps its type and its replace semantics. Segments smuggled through metadata.legs as a JSON string used to be stored and then ignored by everything that read them; they are refused now and point at the legs parameter instead. Closes #1914 * fix(atlas): refuse a bucket list entry that is already on the list Nothing gave a bucket entry an identity, so the same country could be added as often as it was clicked. A wish is now identified by name, country, target date and, where it has them, coordinates. A different target date is a different wish and still lands, which is what the report asked for; two real places sharing a name stay separate because their coordinates differ. Empty string and NULL are normalised on both sides of the comparison, otherwise the dateless case, which is the one that was reported, would slip through. Deliberately no unique index and no migration. better-sqlite3 is synchronous and the server is a single process, so the race an index would guard against cannot happen here, and an index would have needed a destructive dedupe of existing rows first. create_bucket_list_item had no target_date parameter at all, so over MCP the allowed "same place, other date" case was unreachable. It takes one now. The plugin RPC reports the duplicate as bad params instead of letting it surface as an internal error. Closes #1898 * fix(settings): keep a free-form LLM endpoint in admin hands Any account could name the address the server calls, and the guard in front of it deliberately allows loopback and LAN so a self-hosted Ollama works. That is a reasonable trade for whoever runs the instance, because the network is theirs. It is not one for an arbitrary account, which could aim a request from inside that network at a target only it chose and read how the target answered. A free base URL, and the local provider that is one by another name, now come only from an admin controlled source: the addon config, the instance-wide defaults, or an admin's own settings. OpenAI and Anthropic stay available to everyone, because they go to a fixed address with the user's own key. The resolver is where this is enforced, since it is the single point both the booking import and the plugin host pass through, and the only one that also covers values already sitting in the database. The write path refuses as well, so nothing is stored that would never be read. The hint text promised something users no longer have, so it changed with it. Closes #1772 * fix(calendar): span a date-only booking to its end date A DATE event without DTEND is exactly one day per RFC 5545, so a multi-day booking that carries an end date still collapsed onto its first day. It gets an exclusive DTEND now, built the same way the stay branch already builds one. A booking without an end date serialises byte for byte as before. While in here: the stays query joins reservations on the accommodation, and two bookings pointed at the same stay fanned it out into two events sharing one UID. Duplicate UIDs in a feed are undefined behaviour and calendar clients pick one at random. The same "at most one booking per stay" assumption sat in the accommodations service, where it was worse than cosmetic: accommodation_id carries no foreign key, so deleting a stay took only the first booking and left the second pointing at something that no longer existed. Both the sync and the delete walk all of them now. The callers keep reading linkedReservationId; the list is additional. Refs #1869 * fix(vacay): say that the region is required, because it is The placeholder called the region optional while the add button stayed disabled until one was picked. The wording predates multiple calendars per plan, which is what introduced the gate. Only the value of the existing key changed, in all locales, so the key set stays identical. Two things the same screen got wrong were in the way of a clean answer: The button was clickable while the region list was still loading, which put the user in exactly the state the wording describes, and it is the state the report was filed from. It waits for the list now. Changing the country on an existing calendar kept the previous country's regions on screen, so a German region could be picked for the Netherlands. The list is cleared with the country, which only works in combination with the loading gate: without it, the empty list would happen to enable the button instead. Closes #1813 * fix(collections): let a saved place's address be corrected The edit form offered name, category and labels, and the address only on the way in. The cause was not the form: the update contract never declared address, so the validation pipe stripped it and the UPDATE had no column for it. Coordinates were pulled through for #1435 and the address was missed. It travels the whole chain now, contract to service to both forms. No migration, the column has always been there. The mobile add sheet had no address input at all, showing whatever the search result carried as read-only, so editing would have worked while creating still would not. It has one. The MCP tool description had drifted further than the address, never having mentioned the coordinates either. Both are in it now. Closes #1870 * fix(collections): keep the place search usable after the first save The add dialog stays open on purpose so several places can be added in a row, but after a save it gave no way back into the search. A search with no results was silent, with no empty state and no toast, so typing another name and pressing enter looked like nothing happened. The reporter described both halves and it is the silent search that matches "nothing happens" most closely. There is an empty state now, using a key that already existed in every locale and was unused. The search row is sticky inside the dialog body, so it stays reachable after the save instead of sitting above the scroll position. Also fixed while in here: refreshing the collection after each add reset the select mode, the selection and the label filter. In the very flow this dialog is built for, the user quietly lost all three. Closes #1921 * fix(vacay): make the phone year grid and the dock button do what they look like Two separate faults met on this screen. Tapping a day in the year grid did nothing unless the edit mode was already on, and the only way into it was a floating button that looks exactly like the one the dock draws in the same spot. A tap now opens that month in the editor, where the cells are big enough to hit. At 390px the grid cells are around 21px, which is too small to be mutating data with in the first place. The dock's plus was not wired for this route, so it fell through to creating a trip on the dashboard. Two different actions were stacked in one place, and the wrong one was on top whenever the screen had not painted yet, which includes the time its chunk is still loading. The dock leaves the slot to the screen now, and holds the geometry so the tab groups stay symmetric. Closes #1811 * fix(budget): settle in whole cents so balances stop drifting The report is a balance that moves on its own, with nothing added, edited or removed, on a trip where everything is in euro. Two mechanisms were behind it and both are real. The display currency is a fourth value, a per-user setting, so "everything is in euro" never covered it. Each balance was converted and rounded on its own, and the set no longer summed to zero: at 0.855 and 0.9312 it came out one cent over, at 0.94 it came out even. That cent appears and disappears with the six hour rate cache alone, which is exactly the symptom. The flows were rounded separately from the balances, so the two never had to agree. And a receipt line nobody was ticked for counted toward the total, and therefore toward the payer's credit, while landing in no share. That difference is permanent, and the client sent it that way. The settlement converts once, at the edge, and does integer arithmetic after that. Equal splits distribute the credited cents by largest remainder rather than the entered total, so credits and debits of one expense cancel exactly even in a foreign currency. Display conversion goes through the same largest-remainder allocation, so the sum survives it. With that, the 0.01 epsilon can go. It could never create a cent, but it stranded them: a one cent balance was filtered out of the flows while staying visible in the list, which is the "settle up offers nothing" half of the report. Closes #1382 * fix(journey): reach the book export and the suggestion toggle on a phone Below 1024px the hero card is dropped, and it held the only way to either action. The floating bar that replaces it was never given them. It has them now, and the hero is unmounted rather than hidden, so there is no second invisible copy of the same controls in the document. The bar's own buttons moved onto the appearance tokens while they were being touched. The phone screen never had either action at all and now carries both. The book itself was hardwired to English, cover and dates included, while the keys for it had been sitting in every locale unused. It takes the page's translator and locale, sets the document language, and prints mood and weather, which were on screen but never in the book. Closes #1848 * fix(journey): offer the connected photo providers in the phone entry editor The desktop editor grew an external photo source in #1632; the phone editor that came out of the mobile rewrite never did, so editing an entry on a phone had no way to Immich or Synology. It mirrors the desktop mechanics, including the part that is easy to miss: a save that creates the entry and then fails on the photos keeps the sheet open, and without remembering what was just created the retry creates a second entry. The sheet no longer kicks off its own addon load. The list is loaded once on boot and this only reacts to it; a second load races the other consumers and overwrites the store when it lands. Closes #1808 * fix(mobile): let the document scroll so Safari can collapse its URL bar iOS Safari only shrinks its address bar when the document scrolls, and TREK's never did: the root was locked and the mobile shell put a scroll container inside it. On the bottom tab layout that costs about a sixth of the viewport, permanently. Below 768px the document is the scroller again and the full-bleed screens measure their own height instead of leaning on the shell. That makes the body scroll locks real for the first time on a phone, and they were not ready for it. Three of them reset the overflow unconditionally, one of those on every run of its effect rather than on unmount, so a system notice could hand the page back while a sheet was still open. They all go through one reference counted lock now, which is the part that had to land first. Worth knowing for the issue: this reaches the flow screens. The trip planner, the journal, the atlas and the vacay screen keep their own full-height scrollers and still will not collapse the bar. Closes #1809 * fix(mobile): keep the screen gradient visible behind the translucent cards The gradient layer introduced with the scroll change sat at z-index -10. A negative layer paints above the canvas but below the backgrounds of ordinary blocks, and body carries an opaque one, so the gradient was hidden behind it. The mobile cards are translucent and take their depth from what is behind them, so every surface ended up compositing against a single flat colour and the whole phone UI read as one tone. The layer is positioned at z-index 0 now and the content above it at 10, which puts both over body's background. Same visual as before the scroll change, and the shell still owns no scroll container. * test(reservations): teach the accommodation delete stub about the id lists The RPC walks every linked booking since the delete stopped stopping at the first one. The stub still answered with the two singular fields, so the loop had nothing to iterate and the cascade events never fired. * fix(settings): move the free-form LLM endpoint out of user settings entirely Hiding it from non-admins closed the hole, but it left the option sitting in the admin's own personal settings, which is not what was asked for and not where it belongs: an instance has exactly one address it calls out to, and there was a second, invisible place to set it. The provider list is now the two hosted ones for everybody, the endpoint field is gone, and the resolver takes the address from the admin-controlled instance defaults for every caller including an admin. It no longer reads the users table at all. The write path refuses the keys for everyone, so nothing can be stored that would never be read. The endpoint is configured on the addon in the admin settings, which already carries provider, model, base URL and key, plus the Ollama model list. Nothing is lost, it just has one home now. Behaviour change worth a release note: an admin who set a personal Ollama endpoint has to move it to the addon config. A non-admin was already in that position after the previous commit. Refs #1772 * fix(journey): make the book preview usable on a phone The preview document carried no viewport, so a phone laid it out at its default 980px while the page is A4 landscape and about 1123px wide. It spilled out of the frame, which reads as being zoomed far in. Declaring the real width lets the browser scale the page to fit. Printing is unaffected, it goes by @page. The preview chrome had the same problem in miniature: a title and two labels on one row, sized inline, which does not fit a phone and fits translated labels even less. It moved to a stylesheet, and below 640px the card goes full-bleed, the decorative title steps aside and the two actions share the width. Refs #1848 * fix(mobile): stop the shell trapping the screens' own overlays Lifting the background layer into the positioned range meant the content wrapper had to be positioned too, and a positioned wrapper with a z-index is a stacking context. Every fixed overlay a screen renders inside it got clamped to that level: the vacay view/edit FAB sits at z-50 precisely so it beats the dock at z-40, and it disappeared behind it. The layer goes back to a negative z-index and the wrapper back to no positioning at all. What it needed in the first place was for body to stop painting over it, which is one line in the phone media block rather than a new stacking context. * fix(mobile): let the phone background override actually win A media query adds no specificity, so the themed body rule further down the file kept winning on source order and painted over the shell's background layer. The override is on html body now. The gradient was back to being invisible, which is the flat single-tone phone UI again. * fix(vacay): draw today's ring around the day instead of replacing it On the phone, today short-circuited the day-cell matrix and returned a ring on an empty cell. A vacation day or a company holiday logged for today was stored and counted in the totals, but the cell showed nothing, so it read as if the tap had not taken. Today is an annotation now, layered like the school band and the shared-calendar rings, which is how the desktop month card has always treated it. The strong ink stays only where the cell has no fill of its own, since --m-ink is light in dark mode and would disappear on a pastel. * fix(map): stop serving a stale GL style document from the service worker The Workbox rule for Mapbox matched every URL under api.mapbox.com, and the style document lives there too. Under StaleWhileRevalidate the map was built from the previous revision on every load, with the refresh landing one load too late, so a style republished in Studio with different label languages kept rendering the old ones. The network tab showed a 200 throughout, because the service worker's own answer is a real 200, which is why this looked like the app rewriting text-field at runtime. The style now has its own rule ahead of the tile rules, on NetworkFirst so it is current whenever the network is, and still cached so the map opens offline. Its own small cache too: sharing an LRU with three thousand tiles made the staleness come and go at random. OpenFreeMap styles had the same problem and are covered by the same rule. Closes #1924 |

fix(client): move to react-router 7.18.2 (#1804)
* refactor(client): opt into the v7 router behaviour while still on v6 Turning the behaviour on separately from the version bump keeps the two failure modes apart: red here means a behaviour change, red on the bump means the import rewrite. The suite is unchanged either way — 527 files, 11099 tests. Only the two flags a non-data router understands are set; the rest belong to createBrowserRouter, which this app doesn't use. Both are applied at all six router mounts, so the tests exercise the same behaviour as production rather than validating v6 while prod runs v7. * fix(client): move to react-router 7.18.2 6.30.4 is affected by GHSA-wrjc-x8rr-h8h6 — open redirect through a backslash in Link and useNavigate, which this app uses in 41 places — and the 6.x line has no fix: react-router-dom 6.30.2 to 6.30.4 carries GHSA-jjmj-jmhj-qwj2 with no patched version at all. Staying is not an option, and 7.0 to 7.17 only swaps it for GHSA-chx6-hx7r-mcp5. The package rename comes with it: react-router-dom is a re-export shim in v7, so using it would only defer the same rewrite to the v8 jump. 77 occurrences across 60 files, all of them import specifiers and vi.mock strings. The surface is small — useNavigate, useParams, useSearchParams, useLocation, Routes, Route, Link, Navigate, useMatch, MemoryRouter, BrowserRouter — no data router, no loaders or actions. Nothing else had to change; the future flags from the previous commit are simply how v7 behaves, so they come back out. npm audit still reports GHSA-qwww-vcr4-c8h2 on react-router (RSC mode CSRF, fixed in 8.3.0). It needs RSC mode, which needs a server; this is a static SPA. Closing it means the v8 major, which is its own piece of work. |

fix(client): work through the findings from the coverage pass
214 items came out of writing the tests. Real defects are corrected, dead code is removed rather than covered, and the tests that pinned the old behaviour move with them. Also drops two agent coverage scratch files that slipped into the coverage PR and adds the ignore rule that keeps them out. |

Replace the 3.0 upgrade notices with a thank-you / support modal
The 3.0 "what's new" notices have served their purpose, so swap them for a single thank-you notice that comes back once on every fresh install and version bump. It carries Buy Me a Coffee and Ko-fi buttons and only shows on desktop. Adds a per-version recurring mode (new dismissed_app_version column) plus external-link CTAs to support it; the 3.0.14 whitespace-collision admin notice stays active. |

Release 3.1.0 (#1185)
* Phase 0 — NestJS + Zod foundation harness (F1–F8) (#1050) Co-hosted NestJS app behind the existing Express server via a strangler-fig dispatcher, sharing the same better-sqlite3 connection and JWT httpOnly cookie. Additive and dormant: default routing stays on Express, Nest only serves its own /api/_nest diagnostics until a module opts in. F1 @trek/shared Zod contract package; F2 Nest bootstrap co-hosted (fall-through, single Dockerfile/port); F3 shared better-sqlite3 provider; F4 JWT cookie auth guard (+ @CurrentUser, admin guard); F5 Zod validation pipe + error-envelope parity; F6 Nest test + coverage gates; F7 per-prefix strangler toggle (env, default Express); F8 CI build/typecheck/test/coverage. Remaining F4/F6/F8 checklist items (trip-access + permission levels + MFA policy, e2e harness/seed + 80% gate, Nest↔Express parity test, Playwright PR-comment workflow) are tracked on the first consuming module cards (L1/A1/C1). * feat(weather): migrate /api/weather to the NestJS pilot module (L1) (#1053) First strangler migration (L1): /api/weather is served by a NestJS module. - @trek/shared/weather Zod contract; Nest controller byte-identical to the legacy Express route (paths, query params, status codes, { error } bodies, lang default, ApiError/500 passthrough). Service reuses getWeather/getDetailedWeather (+ shared cache; MCP tools unchanged). - Strangler routes /api/weather to Nest by default; the legacy Express route + its migration-time parity test were decommissioned in this PR. - Frontend (FE2): weatherApi typed against the @trek/shared WeatherResult contract. - Harness: reusable Nest-vs-Express parity harness, e2e harness (temp SQLite + seed/cookie helpers, real JwtAuthGuard), src/nest coverage gate raised to >=80%, src/nest test guide. - Verified end-to-end on a prod mirror (dev1): 401/400/200 via Nest with real Open-Meteo data, Express route gone. * fix(packing): multiply item weight by quantity in bag/total weight calcs (#898) Quantity now counts toward bag and total weights. Generalised to an itemWeight() helper used by every weight sum (bag totals + max, unassigned, grand total; sidebar + bag modal) with unit tests. * feat(i18n): add Korean (ko) translation (#977) Korean translation by @ppuassi, topped up to full en.ts key parity. Language registration follows separately. * feat(i18n): add Japanese (ja) translation (#829) Japanese translation by @soma3978, at full en.ts key parity, registered in supportedLanguages + TranslationContext. * Add Turkish (tr) translation + language registry (#1029) Turkish translation by @SkyLostTR, at full en.ts key parity, registered in supportedLanguages + TranslationContext. * i18n: register Korean + add Ukrainian translation (#1055) Korean translation by @ppuassi (#977) — now registered. Ukrainian by @JeffyOLOLO (#902) — lifted onto a clean branch. Both at full en.ts key parity (2258 keys). * chore: fix monorepo build pipeline and migrate shared to built package (#1056) * chore: fix monorepo build pipeline and migrate shared to built package - Root package.json: add workspace scripts (dev, build, test, test:cov, test:e2e) that delegate to actual scripts in shared/server/client workspaces - shared: add tsup build step (CJS + ESM dual output, .d.ts); consumers now import from the built dist instead of raw TS source via path aliases - server: replace tsc-alias with tsconfig-paths (tsc-alias mangled node_modules paths); fix MCP SDK path aliases to point to root node_modules (../node_modules) - server/scripts/dev.mjs: delay node --watch until tsc -w signals first-pass done, eliminating the spurious restart on every dev startup - client/vite.config.js + vitest.config.ts: remove @trek/shared path alias (no longer needed now that shared is a proper package) - Consolidate package-lock.json at the workspace root; drop per-workspace lock files * chore: fix test script to reflect root package.json * chore: add missing lint and prettier script in root package.json * fix(ci): build shared before tests; fix vitest MCP SDK alias paths vitest.config.ts aliases pointed at ./node_modules/ (server-local) but packages are hoisted to the root node_modules/ in the npm workspace — changed to ../node_modules/. CI jobs now install and build shared before running server/client tests so that @trek/shared's dist/ exists when vitest resolves the package. * fix(docker): update Dockerfile and CI for monorepo workspace structure Dockerfile: - Add shared-builder stage that produces @trek/shared dist before client and server stages need it - Each build stage carries root package.json + package-lock.json so npm can resolve @trek/shared as a workspace dependency - Production stage installs via workspace context (npm ci --workspace=server --omit=dev) so node_modules/@trek/shared symlinks to shared/dist correctly - Copy server/tsconfig.json into the image so tsconfig-paths/register can find the MCP SDK path aliases at runtime - CMD cds into /app/server before starting node so tsconfig-paths baseUrl resolves and ../node_modules points to /app/node_modules - Remove mkdir for /app/server (now a real dir); keep symlinks for uploads/data docker.yml version-bump: - Replace manual per-workspace cd+npm-version calls with single: npm version --workspaces --include-workspace-root --no-git-tag-version (mirrors the version:* scripts in root package.json) - git add now references root package-lock.json; adds shared/package.json .dockerignore: add shared/dist package.json: fix version:prerelease preid (alpha → pre) * fix(tests): use in-memory SQLite per worker in test mode vitest pool:forks spawns parallel worker processes that all called initDb() on the same data/travel.db, causing SQLite "database is locked" and "duplicate column name" races. When NODE_ENV=test each fork now gets an isolated :memory: DB so migrations run independently with no file contention. * chore(ci): add ACT guards to skip DockerHub steps in local act runs act sets ACT=true automatically. Guards added: - docker login: if: ${{ !env.ACT }} - build outputs: type=docker (local load) when ACT, push-by-digest when CI - digest export/upload: if: ${{ !env.ACT }} - merge job: if: ${{ !env.ACT }} - release-helm job (docker.yml): if: ${{ !env.ACT }} - version-bump git push (docker.yml): wrapped in [ -z "$ACT" ] shell guard Run locally with: ./bin/act -j build -W .github/workflows/docker.yml \ -P ubuntu-latest=catthehacker/ubuntu:act-latest * fix(ci): move ACT guards to step level; add guards to security.yml env context is invalid in job-level if conditions — moved all ACT guards down to individual steps. Also guards docker login + scout in security.yml so act can run the build-only part of that workflow. * fix(ci): skip git fetch and tag logic in act (no remote access in local containers) * Revert "fix(ci): skip git fetch and tag logic in act (no remote access in local containers)" This reverts commit |

fix(system-notices): overhaul mobile bottom sheet UX
- Replace "Next Notice >" CTA with proper < > pager buttons - Fix shared scroll container: each slot now scrolls independently - Sheet uses fixed h-[85dvh] so height is consistent across all notices - Sticky footer (pager + CTA) always anchored at bottom of each slot - Content area vertically centered when shorter than available space - Dismiss-drag suppressed when slot is scrolled down (pan-up to scroll back) - Scroll position resets on navigation via per-slot refs - Adjacent slot scroll cleared on horizontal gesture classification - OK button navigates to next notice on non-last pages, dismisses on last - OK button only shown when dismissible or on last notice |

fix(mobile): account for bottom navbar in overlays and improve system notices UX
- Add paddingBottom: var(--bottom-nav-h) to all mobile overlays that were clipping content behind the bottom navbar: EntryEditor, SystemNoticeModal, JourneyPage create modal, TodoListPanel sheets, TripPlannerPage PlaceInspector, PackingListPanel bag modal, both PhotoLightboxes, FileManager viewer, and shared Modal primitive - Replace single-notice mobile bottom sheet with a 3-slot horizontal strip so adjacent notices are physically present during drag - Add live-follow swipe left/right to navigate between notices with spring-back when under threshold and flushSync to eliminate blink on commit - Add live-follow swipe down to dismiss all notices with spring-back; backdrop tap also triggers the slide-down animation - Normalize notice height with useLayoutEffect minHeight on strip and align-items: stretch so all slots are always the tallest notice height - Pin CTA button at consistent Y across notices via flex-1 + mt-auto; always render invisible Not now placeholder to equalise CTA section height - Move pager dots/counter below CTA buttons |

feat(notices): add system notice infrastructure
Server-side notice registry with per-user condition evaluation (firstLogin, existingUserBeforeVersion, addonEnabled, dateWindow, role, custom). Notices are sorted by priority then severity, filtered against dismissals stored in a new user_notice_dismissals table, and served via GET /api/system-notices/active + POST /api/system-notices/:id/dismiss. Client renders notices through a host component that partitions by display type (modal / banner / toast). The modal renderer supports multi-page pagination with directional slide transitions, keyboard navigation, and correct dismiss-all semantics on CTA / X / ESC. Dismissals are optimistic with a single background retry. Includes 3.0.0 upgrade notices (v3-photos, v3-journey, v3-features), onboarding welcome modal, and full i18n coverage across 15 languages. The /journey route is addon-gated on both client and server. Also includes: unit + integration test suites, registry integrity test that validates action CTA IDs against client source, and technical documentation in docs/system-notices.md. |
